I wrote a separate post about why I’m doing this challenge, the specific French skills I want to work on, and how this fits into my current language goals. If you’re curious, you can read it here:
Textbook: Grammaire en dialogue A1
I studied for 1 hour and 4 minutes, broken into two short sessions, and completed Review 4.
Back on Day 2, I mentioned that once I reached around 45% of the book, I planned to pause and focus on consolidation. For me, that meant:
- reviewing all the chapters I’ve completed so far,
- practicing verb conjugations more intentionally,
- reinforcing grammar concepts like possessives, and
- listening to the audio multiple times — possibly even adding dictation practice.
Now that I’ve reached that point, I’m officially hitting pause on new chapters and shifting my focus to a deep review of Chapters 1 to 15.
To prepare for this review phase, I downloaded all the audio files for Chapters 1–15 from the CLE International website, which hosts the audio resources for this textbook series (https://en-dialogues.cle-international.com/).
Review 4 was tough. It honestly took a hit on my motivation because I struggled with several of the questions and ended up with my lowest score so far.
Here are my review scores to date:
- Review 1: 69.09%
- Review 2: 76.32%
- Review 3: 72.97%
- Review 4: 66.97%
