I wrote a separate post about why I’m doing this challenge, the specific French skills I want to work on, and how this fits into my current language goals. If you’re curious, you can read it here:
Textbook: Grammaire en dialogue A1
I studied for 1 hour and 22 minutes, broken into four short sessions, and completed Chapter 18, verb conjugation practice on Quizlet, and half of Review 5.
After the 4+ hour marathon session yesterday, I’m back to my average study time. I knew that kind of intensity wouldn’t be sustainable. Working full-time and living alone means I handle everything myself — errands, laundry, groceries, cooking — all of it.
Still, I’m proud of one thing: I’ve been showing up daily.
And today marks another milestone: I’m officially halfway through the textbook.
I don’t know yet if I’ll finish the entire book this month. I do have three days off next week, and I’m hoping to use that time to make significant progress. At the same time, I know those days will probably include catching up on “adulting” — errands and household chores don’t disappear just because I’m off work.
