In this post, I shared why I’m giving myself a short period to prepare and take the CELPIP exam, and why I need to take it.
Now, I’ll share my preparation plans. Just a quick background:
- This will be my third English proficiency exam and my second CELIP exam.
- I am an advanced user of English, so my preparations are geared towards learning the exam format and doing mock tests. And not learning English grammar or memorizing vocabulary and phrases.
I like having structure when taking an exam, but I don’t want it to be too rigid. Instead of making a daily plan and really specifying what to do per day in advance, I prefer to have weekly goals and plan one day at a time.
So, here is the plan for the next 22 days.
Week 1 | CELPIP Countdown: D-22 to D-17
- Re-learn the exam format using the Accelerate Starter and CELIP website.
- Make notes on test-taking tips per skills.
- Score baseline: listening and reading scores using the Accelerate Starter. No note-taking while answering the questions.
- Score baseline: writing using the Accelerate Starter. No time-restriction. Use ChaptGPT to score my answer.
- Decide if I need to purchase the full Accelerate Course.
Week 2 | CELPIP Countdown: D-18 to D-10
- 2 Full mock tests
Week 3 | CELPIP Countdown: D-9 to D-3
- 2 Full mock tests
Week 4 | CELPIP Countdown: D-2 to D-0
- Two days before the exam: Buffer time; catch up and conditioning myself for the exam day.
- Exam day: No last-minute prep.
